  1. Master Conversation Skills workshops. This was a 4 weekends workshop. Trainer was a
    Human Resource Manager from Exxon to train our members and our children how to make
    small talks, how to conduct meetings, how to interview, etc.
  2. Provide various seminars/workshops: educational programs, space programs, health
    awareness, technology information, do it yourself program, social security and medicare
    seminars, arts and crafts workshops, financial and retirement preparation seminars, etc.
  3. Provide Bus trips for seniors 3-4 times a year to museums, parks, bluebonnet trips, picnics,
    fishing, President Johnson Library, President Bush Library, etc.
  4. Assist members on EEO issues with EEOC and/or NASA contractors. Provide a dialog
    session between members and the EEOC office.
    5 Host Annual Lunar New Year Celebration dinner. (average 100 +people)
  5. Host Annual Moon Festival Celebration event to celebrate the harvest season and promote
    cultural heritage awareness. (average 300-500 attendees)
  6. Encourage members political involvement: local and national elections, register to vote,
    volunteering and participating campaigns, assist the permanent residence holders to become
    U.S. Citizens.
  7. Assist members with issues: medical situation, transportation, immigration, financial, family
    violence, translation, etc.
  8. Fundraising for the hurricane disaster victims, flood disaster victims, underprivileged school
    children’s backpacks, homeless family winter jackets, etc.

  10. Co-sponsor with other community organizations in Youth Leadership Conference programs,
    CARE (Chinese American Relief Effort), SET(Science and Engineering Technology
    Conference), CLCC and Light & Salt Cancer Prevention, Arts and Crafts Exhibition, Total Image
    Conference( How to dress for and talk to success), Annual Dragon Boat Race, etc.
  11. SCIPA serves as the bridge for the members and local law enforcement. HPD provides
    Safety and Security awareness programs (prevent and protect from carjacking and home
    robbery).
  12. SCIPA is a resource for locating community service programs.
  13. SCIPA started a Clear Lake Toastmaster International Club.
  14. SCIPA started a Clear Lake Chorus Club.
  15. Introduce and petition Chinese language into CCISD High school as a 2nd foreign language.
